Brooke’s Dairy
Established in 1991 by Robert and Irene Brooke, Brooke’s Dairy has been creating artisan ice creams and sorbets for almost 30 years, using milk produced on the farm. The farm is in the heart of the Wye Valley, where plentiful sun and rain create perfect conditions for the top quality grass enjoyed by the Brookes’ small herd of beautiful Jersey cows.
Milk from Jersey cows is famed for its golden colour and rich, creamy taste. It’s perfect for luxurious ice cream and, of course, Angiddy, which is being handmade on the farm by Robert and Irene’s daughter Hannah.
Angiddy is a mould ripened soft cheese, similar in style to a Brie or Camembert. The milk used to make it gives the cheese not just a lovely golden colour and fresh flavour, but also an addictive tang which is memorable and moreish, earning Angiddy a Silver award at the Royal Welsh Show 2017 in the ‘New Cheese’ category.
