The Welsh Cheese Company

Like so many of us, my love of cheese can be traced back to my childhood. My family and I spent many happy days visiting a small dairy farm just down the road from our house, where the farmer and his wife produced the most mouth-wateringly sharp farmhouse Cheddar. As I grew up my tastes broadened, and during my student years I loved finding new and unusual cheeses to try in Cardiff’s delis and farmers’ markets. I was often struck by the sheer variety of local cheeses on offer – as well as their fantastic flavours!

Fast forward 15 years, and it was time to turn my passion into a business. After months of researching (read: eating cheese) and talking to (read: eating cheese with) Wales’ best artisan cheesemakers, I launched The Welsh Cheese Company in 2017.
